On Financial reports, when you reach your new fiscal year, you may need to update the Budget on your reports, so that new Budgets are taken into consideration. This article will guide you through taking a copy of your original report, then updating your report to show updated budgets.
Duplicating your original report
The reason for duplicating your original report is so you can still run retrospective Budget reports. We update the original report so that Dashboards will not need to be changed. The steps below guide you through duplicating your report, and giving it a new title, to allow you to do this.
- Go to Applications > Reports > Financial Reports.
- In your list, click Edit next to the report you wish to duplicate. In this example, I'll use the Budget Holder I&E Report to duplicate.
- When in the Financial Report Writer, click Duplicate at the top right.
- Give the duplicate report a name. I've used the same name but added the fiscal year it is for. Click OK when you're happy with the name to create the duplicate report.
- In the Report list, you will now see the duplicated report as you have named it.
To edit the Budget on your original report.
Now we have a duplicated version of the original report, retaining the original budget, we can edit the original report and make the changes to the Budget.
